2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

Data you provide directly

  • Account information: Name, email address, and authentication credentials when you sign up.
  • Numerology input data: Your full birth name and date of birth, which are essential for calculating your numerological profile.
  • Coaching conversations: Messages you exchange with Veda (our AI coach) during coaching sessions.
  • Payment information: Transaction details processed through our payment gateway. We do not store your card numbers or UPI credentials — these are handled entirely by our payment partner.
  • Feedback and queries: Any messages, feedback, or support requests you submit.

Data generated through use

  • Numerology readings: Calculated numbers (Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, etc.) derived from your input data.
  • Session metadata: Token counts, session timestamps, and model usage for cost tracking and quality improvement.
  • Consent records: Timestamps and status of your data processing consent.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used for the following purposes:

  • Calculating your Vedic numerology profile and generating readings
  • Providing personalised AI coaching through Veda
  • Generating PDF reports and compatibility analyses
  • Processing payments and managing your subscription
  • Sending essential service communications (account verification, payment receipts)
  • Improving the quality of our AI coaching and knowledge base
  • Complying with legal obligations

4. AI Processing

Your coaching conversations are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to generate personalised responses. Your numerology data and conversation content are sent to Anthropic's API during active coaching sessions. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models. Conversations are not stored by Anthropic beyond the duration of the API call.

Your numerology readings in the Sacred Harmony compatibility feature are calculated entirely on our servers and your device — no AI processing or external API calls are involved.

5. Consent (DPDP Act §6)

We collect and process your personal data only with your explicit consent. When you first use NumVed, you will be asked to provide consent through our consent banner. You may withdraw your consent at any time through your privacy settings.

Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal, but may limit your ability to use certain features of the platform.

6. Your Rights (DPDP Act §13)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access your data: View all personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct your data: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your data: Request complete erasure of your account and all associated data.
  • Data portability: Download a copy of your data in a portable format (JSON).
  • Withdraw consent: Revoke your data processing consent at any time.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you request account deletion, we will erase all your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Coaching session data (messages, token counts) is retained for the duration of your account. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax regulations.

8. Data Sharing

We share your data only with the following third parties, and only to the extent necessary:

  • Anthropic (AI provider): Coaching conversation content, processed during active sessions only. Not stored by Anthropic.
  • Payment gateway: Transaction details for payment processing. We do not store card or UPI data.
  • Supabase (database hosting): Your account and reading data, stored in PostgreSQL with encryption at rest.
  • Vercel (hosting): Standard web server logs (IP addresses, request metadata).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest (database-level), secure authentication (Auth.js), and access controls limiting data access to authorised processes only.

10. Cookies

NumVed uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. No data is shared with advertising networks.

11. Children's Privacy

NumVed is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
